has anyone seen any commercial advertising displayed by LMA on this site at anytime?

*snort* Never, which I'm guessing is about as often as Mr. Kreutzmann has been to this site. Or maybe his recollection is a bit hazy after 3 years now.

He was probably talking about other sites that had leveraged The Archive. Even the ones without ads, aside the LMA, are gone now.

Hey Diana - I had the same thought as I read that interview.

I wish the band would log-in and witness the community which has sprung from the availability of these recordings.

There is no doubt in my mind that archive.org has brought 1000's of fans BACK to GD music.....and many of those 1000's are attending the live performances of the surviving members.

Personally, I had moved on......and now I'm back and more enthusiastic than ever!

Also, having the GD recordings here has given the lesser-known bands @ LMA a larger audience........so in this way, GD helps younger artists make the scene.

I could go on listing the positives.......I'd like to hear the downside from Billy K.
